Greenfield Community Information

Also known as "Petrolia", the community of Greenfield in Edmonton is named after Herbert Greenfield, the Premier of Alberta between 1921 and 1925.

Today the neighbourhood is bordered by 40th Avenue, 111st Street, 34th Avenue, and 119th Street. To the west is The Derrick Golf and Winter Club, and beyond that is Whitemud Ravine.

A short distance northeast of Greenfield is the Southgate Centre shopping complex. Within the community itself is Petrolia Mall, offering a few places to eat and a grocery store.

The Greenfield Community League centre includes a large playground, tennis courts, and a large park shared with two elementary schools.

Greenfield Homes & Real Estate

The majority of homes in Greenfield were built through the 60s and 70s. As such, they represent the typical low, modern, bungalow-style designs, with half-stepped basements and horizontal siding, accented with brickwork and the odd A-frame. Given the desirability of the area, this has been some more recent development of infill housing featuring modern designs.

Overall, homes in Greenfield offer generous yards with back-alley access and large spacious homes in well-kept and classic designs.

Homes in this area generally range from $400K to $800K in price.
