Mayfield in west Edmonton AB is located west of 156 Street, north of 107 Avenue, south of 111 Avenue, and east of Mayfield Road. To the north and west of Mayfield lie the light-industrial areas of Sheffield and Youngstown. The rest of Mayfield is bordered by other residential areas; High Park to the east, Canora to the southeast, and Britannia Youngstown to the south. A little over 2000 people live in Mayfield in almost 1000 dwellings. The majority of the homes built in Mayfield were completed between the end of WW2 and the 1960s. As such, they represent the typical mid-century suburban styles of the time. These include cottages and bungalows, detached and suitable for single-families. Ryan Park, Phoebe McCullough Park, and Mayfield Park. Mayfield Park is the largest of these, located in the centre of Mayfield, and accompanied by facilities like the Mayfield Community Centre, Our Lady of Peace Elementary School, and Mayfield Elementary School. This entire complex includes a ball field, soccer pitch, playground, and outdoor rink. Commercial options or located in three places, one at the corner of Mayfield Park, another at Mayfield's northeastern corner, and another just outside the community's eastern boundary. And just beyond Mayfield's western boundary is the locally famous Mayfield Dinner Theatre, offering fine food and entertainment, all in one. Further afield, residents have easy access to Mayfield Commons, a large shopping centre; McQueen Park, including tennis courts, fields, and schools; and the TELUS World of Science to the northeast with a variety of attractions including the Queen Elizabeth Planetarium.
